Cars in a Head-on Collision Nearly Caused Explosion at Fuel Stations in Kanvili

At least 4 vehicles were involved an accident in the early hours of Wednesday afternoon around 3:15pm at King David junction in  Tamale.

The incident occurred between Total and Compass Ollium fuel stations in Kanvili, when a Betford tipper truck with registration number GT 7037-D crashed in to two separate cars.

Even though no casualty was recorded at the time of filing this report, but eye witnesses told saganitvonline.com that, a fuel tanker caused the tipper truck to lose control and suddenly crashed into other cars.

The affected cars, white Hillux pickup registered GR 3841-16 and an ash Toyota yaris with registration NR 53-21 were both driven to the Tamale MTTD for further investigation.

Some residents of the area who spoke to saganitvonline.com said, the incident could have been devastating following the closeness of the accident scene to the fuel stations. According to them, if not for God's intervention, there could have been an explosion.

Meanwhile, the tipper-truck driver ran into hiding for fear of paying for damages.

Car(s) involved in accidents are advised to check for damages and immediately report for possible replacement of their car parts from their insurance companies. But victims from yesterday's incident may not benefit from such, as officer of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department of the Ghana Police service who was at the scene and decline to speak on camera was unhappy the cars were not insured.
