Mion District Assembly Supports 110 Disabled Persons
The Mion district assembly has extended support with items worth hundreds of Ghana cedis to Persons Living with Disability PWDs.
Approximately 110 beneficiaries received various forms of support on Tuesday April 27, 2021 from the assembly to either scale up or help them start their own businesses to improve on their livelihoods.
Items received includes, 20 refrigerators, thirteen (13) seeing machines, livestock, a hair dressing kit and a startup capital.
Addressing the beneficiaries at a short ceremony at the forecourt of the Mion district assembly, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Alhaji Abdallah Mohammed Hashim mentioned that it was the third time the PWDs are benefitting from the assembly common fund.
He noted that, the gesture forms part of the assembly's support plan to encourage entrepreneurship whilst improve the living standard of persons living with disability
He urged the beneficiaries to put the items into productive ventures to sustain their businesses in order to alleviate poverty.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their joy and appreciation assured the district assembly of putting the items into good use.
