MP for Yendi donates Cash and sporting equipments to Real Tamale United

The MP for Yendi Constituency Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has supported Real Tamale United (RTU) with a cheque of GH¢5,000.00 to aid their preparation towards the upcoming Ghana Premier League.


The MP who is the son of the late Vice President of Ghana Alhaji Aliu Mahama promised to continue from where his late father left. The late Veep was part of the founding members of RTU in September, 1976 and was also the first board chairman of the club.


Real Tamale United gain promotion back to Ghana Premier League after spending almost 8 years in Division One League, the team went on break for two weeks after their coronation game against Steadfast on the 1st August 2021, but are currently back to training preparing towards the newly introduced Division One League Super League which will commence on the 23rd of September to 2nd October.


The MP made the promised to RTU on Saturday 21st August in Yendi when the team presented the trophy they won to the overload of Dagbon Ya-Na Abukari II.  The MP made a follow up promise to organize a party for the team on Monday 30th August. “FAM” as his popularly known fulfill his promised by hosting the pride of the north at his residence in Tamale on Monday 30th August.


Present at the get together were Board members, Management members, Technical team, playing body and also supporters leadership.


“Today we are all part of RTU, today we are here to make friends with our brothers and to motivate them and let them feel to be part and parcel of the success story having left a big legacy. it’s in my honour to host you and to have a continued relationship with you that will gear us into the future so am also talking to the management to see how we can get some shares and still keep the Aliu Mahama family as part of the board members and Inshaa Allah I will be able to secured that. And also I will continued supporting you, my Uncle is here, the communication director are all family and friends and I want to assure you of my continued support anytime you knock at my door I should be able to support. I promised a donation of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 5,000.00), there are other things we can all do in terms of support. I think in two weeks time I will try and donate 20 footballs and see what I can add in donation of the footballs to make sure it become easy and when you go the premier league, as a shareholder I will always do my best to make sure that RTU be come greater and greater from where our forbearers left it”. Farouk Aliu Mahama said


The new season for Ghana Premier league starts on 29th of October 2021 where RTU will compete with 17 other teams for the giant trophy, with the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, set to be their home venue.
