People of Nyohani still in shock after caretaker was caught 'stealing' items meant for orphans
After the scandal that characterized the Nyohani Children’s home two months ago where the care taker and manageress Madam Mawulong Eloem was arrested by vigilante residents after she was caught smuggling and diverting items belonging to the orphanage for her personal use and gains, residents of Tamale have shared divergent views on the matter in a recent interview on Sagani TV monitored by saganitvonline.com.
The incident caught the anger of the general public especially residents of Nyohani who called for the immediate removal of the manageress labeling her as ‘corrupt care taker’ who robs the poor orphans of their belongings and what is due them.
It will be recalled that two months ago, the care taker and manageress of Nyohani Children’s home was busted by residents in the area through intelligence and vigilance for smuggling and diverting several items belonging to the orphanage for her personal use and gains.
This went viral on the main stream and social media after Sagani news uncovered the scandal for which the care taker at the orphanage was at the center stage.
The scandal shocked so many people in the region especially residents of the area, making people to believe it is worthless donating to the orphanage anymore. In interactions with some residents, they expressed shock over what happened and described it as ‘most unfortunate’. However indicated they would not be discouraged from donating to the orphanage to help the poor orphans at the children’s home.
