N/R: REGSEC Sends a Strong Warning to NDC over Impending Protest

Following an earlier notice issued by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of an impending walk scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday 16th December 2020 in Tamale, the northern Regional Security Council REGSEC lead by the regional minister Salifu Saeed has send a strong warning to organizers of the march.

 

In a statement signed by the chairman of REGSEC Salifu Saeed, said "we wish to sound a strong caution to the organizers of the march on the need to ensure that their supporters do not engage in any act that would undermine the peace and security of the metropolis".

 

It also adviced  that, "REGSEC has accordingly  directed the police administration to engage the organizers of the march to agree on the dos and donts as well as the defined routes to ensure that other law abiding citizens in the metropolis are able to go about their normal duties and businesses without any hindrance".

 

The statement further said, "REGSEC  in the same vein calls on the entire citizenry and especially selections opposed to the march, to exercise restrain to avoid any possible clashes".

 

The Regional Security Council also assured that the security agencies would provide the needed security to ensure that the peace of the metropolis is maintained.

"we call for total cooperation with the security agencies in that direction"
