Umbrella ladies embark on door to door campaign for election 2020
As part of efforts in canvassing for votes of the electorates ahead of December 2020 polls, ‘Umbrella ladies’ a women’s wing based in Tamale central constituency affiliated to the opposition NDC, has embarked on ‘door – to – door campaign’ at the central business district in Tamale, aimed at convincing business people especially the market women to vote massively for change to bring back NDC to power.
The ‘door – to – door’ campaign was also to educate electorates on the position occupied by the NDC’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama on the ballot box after balloting was done by EC ahead of the general elections.
Among the places visited by Umbrella ladies include; Aboabo Market, Tamale central market and Taxi rank.
Speaking to Sagani news, the ladies urged the women at the market to vote massively for the party to come back to power to alleviate the suffering of people witnessed under poor leadership of Akufo Addo led administration.
According to them, voting for John Mahama to come to power will mean their suffering will be a thing of the past, adding that there will be a boost in local businesses under the next NDC’S government.
