Zung Naa Pays Courtesy Call On Prominent Chiefs And Muslim Clerics In Northern Region
The Northern Regional Council of State Representative elect Colonel Zung Naa Mahamoud Tahiru (RTD) has visited prominent traditional and religious leaders in the Northern region as part of familiarization tour in less than four days after he has been elected as representative for Northern region on the National council of State.
Some of the prominent chiefs and Islamic leaders visited include Yoo-Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani, Tolon Naa Abubakari Sulemana, Pishigu Naa Alhassan Andani, former managing director for Stanbic Bank, Sheikh Zakaria Saeed, leader of Ambariya Sunni Community, Doctuur Ibrahim Basha, leader of Al-bayaan Institute and the regional Chief Imam Ahmed Abdul Salam, among others.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce himself to the chiefs and the Islamic leaders as well as solicit for their support, advice and guidance on his new role as council of State member representing Northern Region.
Col. Mahamoud Tahiru polled 23 votes to emerge as winner in the council of State election in Northern region after beating off competition from 3 others including Naa Alhassan Andani, chief of Pishigu and Immediate past MP for Kumbungu Ras Mubarak.
